I posted these because I saw the connection between my almost obsessive drawing of arch, mandala and circle to these shapes appearing together in sacred architecture. I’m guessing my passion for them is unconsciously influenced by years of attending church, and my intuitive grasp of the sacred through these symbols, even though I didn’t consciously understand their archetypal significance.

I’m constantly pulled to arches and curves, and there is a wealth of symbolic meaning connected to these shapes across cultures, religions and belief systems, including Freemasonry, the Tarot, and Catholicism, to name only a few. And meaning can be found in words and phrases like expansiveness, renewal, point of decision, aspiration, protection and moving through.
